I am thankful for the invisible – the cords of love that tie hearts of those across many miles separated by time and distance and yet still bound together.
I am thankful for the invisible – the deep covenants, bound on promises made to each other and our Maker, that keep marriages faithful and families intact despite what Satan might throw.
I am thankful for the invisible – the comfort and peace found in time spent together in quiet camaraderie, no need for words because the presence of the ones we love is more than enough.
I am thankful for the invisible – the blood washed heart now clean and whole, no longer weighed down by the burden of sin, cleansed by the precious blood of the lamb.
I am thankful for the invisible – the Spirit living inside me and His word, a gift that sustains me, comforts me, and guides me.
I am thankful for the invisible – the loving heart of a Father who has known me since before I was born, who has carried me in the wildernesses of life, and who holds fast my hand even now.
I am thankful for the invisible – for the hope of heaven, a reunion of saints ancient and recent, for no more death or crying or sorrow but only the joy that comes from seeing the face of Jesus and being in His presence.
I am thankful.
Help me, Lord, to remember.
As we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal. ~ 2 Corinthians 4:18
God is an ever present presence even when we feel sometimes he’s not near.
